The 33-year-old Jovan said, “I am now 33. Aging reminds me that it’s no longer the right time to play college student roles. I thought, just like cricketers retire, we can retire from certain roles too. With this in mind, I decided that College Days will be my last performance as a college student.”
Initially, Jovan felt some hesitation about playing a student character. He was also concerned about how audiences would react after such a long gap. However, director Prabir Roy encouraged him and motivated him to perform. Jovan said, “I was worried whether I could adapt to this character after such a long break, but Director Prabir encouraged me, and I gave my best effort.”
The actor added, “To perform this role, I had to go to the gym regularly and adjust my diet. There were even times I went directly from the gym to shooting.”
Director Prabir Roy said, “This character was challenging for Jovan. Initially, he did not want to return to such a role. However, the story required it, and he took the risk.” He added, “We don’t get much time or budget for the drama, but we tried to present something different for the audience.”
He further noted, “For the story, Jovan had to lose four to five kilograms and took breaks during shooting to change his look. We wanted to portray College Days as realistically as possible for viewers.”
Other actors in the drama include Faria Shahrin, Sadia Ayman, Jonayed Bogdadi, Kingker Ahsan, and Ahmed Dostagir.
