A new micro drama series Silver Sadia is going to join the new trend of digital entertainment. The series will be released on May 14 on the CinemaWala Facebook page. Before its release, a special vertical screening event was held at a club in Dhaka.
The event was attended by the cast, director, producer, and invited guests. The trailer of the series was also unveiled.
The 15-episode series has a runtime of about three minutes per episode. According to the makers, it has been designed considering the modern audience’s habit of consuming short-form content.
The series is directed by Miraj Hossain. Sadia Ayman plays the lead role. Other actors include Allen Shubhra, Farzana Chobi, and Kamruzzaman Tapu. Popular content creator Rafsan the Choto Bhai will appear in a special role.
The story revolves around a young madrasa student from a lower-middle-class family struggling with life. Despite hidden family limitations, she tries to build her identity in gaming and live streaming. However, when her secret identity is revealed to her family, various complications begin.
Director Miraj Hossain said this short-format storytelling style will create new possibilities in Bangladesh’s entertainment industry. He believes it is timely to match changing audience habits.
Sadia Ayman said working in such short episodes was a new experience for her and she is excited about the project.
The series is produced by Mayer Doa Studios. Producer Nazim Farhan Chowdhury said vertical storytelling for mobile audiences is now a demand of the time and this project marks the beginning of a new storytelling journey.
Co-producer and creator Pulok Anil said although there were challenges in working in a new format, the entire team took them positively.
