Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party has urged respect for the goals of the mass uprising and the sacrifices of the martyrs, while calling to end the hostile remarks emerging among partner parties. The party stated that derogatory comments against each other harm the democratic movement and insult the sacrifices of the martyrs.

On Friday, AB Party leaders made these remarks while participating in a symbolic coffin road march in Dhaka commemorating the July Mass Uprising. The road march started from Bijoy-71 Square in Bijoy Nagar and ended at Mirpur-10, passing through Jatrabari, Badda, and Uttara.

At the rally, AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju said, “Where unity was needed, there is now disrespectful exchange of words. Important partners like BNP and Islami Andolan are calling each other ‘traitors,’ ‘extortionists,’ and more, which is a desecration of the blood of our martyrs.” He called on all parties to stop such remarks and return to the path of unity.

AB Party General Secretary Asaduzzaman Fuad said, “The fascist behavior of Awami League in Gopalganj has again proven that they do not believe in democracy. To resist this repression, united movements across party lines must continue.”

Also present at the road march were party’s Labour Affairs Secretary Shah Abdur Rahman, Metropolitan South Joint Convener Anwar Faruk, Northern Member Secretary Selim Khan, Youth Party Office Secretary Amanullah Sarkar, and Student Wing General Secretary Rafiuur Rahman.
