13 Leaders Resign from NCIP Habiganj District Committee

Thirteen leaders have voluntarily resigned from the executive committee of the National Citizens’ Party (NCIP) in Habiganj district. According to party sources, they sent individual resignation letters to the convener and the member-secretary of the central committee.

On Wednesday (29 January), NCIP Habiganj district joint member-secretary Mir Dulal confirmed the matter. He said, “I have heard about it. The concerned leaders informed us of their decision to resign via WhatsApp.”

Among those who resigned are district committee joint convener Md. Nurul Haque Tipu and Advocate Abdul Wahid Monir, senior joint member-secretary Palash Mahmud, joint member-secretary Sirajul Haque Sajib, Sheikh Rubel Ahmed, Salam Ahsan, and Sonjoy Das. In addition, committee members Md. Harun Mia, Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Md. Jasim Uddin, Md. Zahid Mia, Shafiul Alam Khan, and Sofayel Ahmed also resigned.

No official explanation has been provided for the resignations so far. However, local political circles speculate that dissatisfaction with party activities and organizational matters prompted this decision.

Formal reactions from the central leadership have not yet been received. However, the simultaneous resignation of so many leaders has sparked fresh discussions within NCIP’s Habiganj district organization.
