Youth Injured in Cocktail Explosion in Keshabpur, Jashore

A young man named Juel Rana, 30, was injured in a cocktail explosion in Keshabpur upazila of Jashore. The incident occurred at around 11am on Saturday (August 15) in the Madhyakul Nathpara Mor area of Keshabpur municipality.

The injured Juel Rana is the son of Khanjahan Ali of the same area. Following the explosion, local residents rescued him and took him to Keshabpur Upazila Health Complex. He is currently receiving treatment there.

According to police and local sources, a sudden sound of a cocktail explosion was heard in the Madhyakul Nathpara Mor area at around 11am on Saturday. Juel Rana was injured in the explosion. The incident caused panic among local residents immediately afterward.

Roksana Khatun, officer-in-charge (OC) of Keshabpur Police Station, said a police team had been sent to the scene after receiving information that a person had been injured in a cocktail explosion.

She said, “At this moment, it cannot be confirmed whether the injured person was carrying the cocktail or whether it exploded while he was placing it somewhere. The matter is being investigated.”

Police visited the scene and are investigating the cause of the explosion and other aspects related to the incident. Police said they are also collecting information from local residents, including a statement from the injured Juel Rana.
