Violence Resumes in Gopalganj During NCP's Program, Chhatra League Activists Attack Vehicle Convoy and March

Violence continues to escalate in Gopalganj surrounding the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) program. The latest incident occurred on Wednesday (July 16) at around 2:45 PM, when NCP leaders’ vehicle convoy was attacked. NCP activists have blamed Chhatra League for the attack, labeling it as a “banned organization.”

Earlier the same day, at approximately 1:30 PM, a bomb explosion and armed attack took place during an NCP rally in Gopalganj Sadar. The assailants suddenly launched a coordinated attack on the rally, injuring several NCP workers and spreading panic at the site. Despite the presence of police and army personnel, the attack took place, according to the complaints.

As part of NCP’s month-long central program, the "July March," various activities were organized throughout the day in Gopalganj. After the rally, at around 2:45 PM, the march commenced, but participants were once again attacked. Reports indicate that a group of Chhatra League activists launched a sudden attack on the leaders and activists participating in the march.
