Tanzim Hasan Sakib Pays Tribute to Freedom Fighters in Victory Month

On the occasion of December, the month of Victory, young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib of the Bangladesh national cricket team expressed his deep respect for the Liberation War and freedom fighters. On Friday (12 December) afternoon, he shared an emotional post on his verified Facebook page, expressing gratitude to the freedom fighters.

In his post, Sakib wrote that he takes pride in the history of the Liberation War. He considers the freedom fighters, who jumped into the battlefield for the motherland without any formal training, as the true heroes of the country. In his words: “Those who had no special training but risked their lives to liberate the country are our real heroes.”

He further said that because of the sacrifices and courage of the freedom fighters, he is able to represent Bangladesh on the international stage. Although a well-known face as a cricketer in the national team, Sakib never compares his achievements to those of the true heroes. He emphasized: “The real stars of Bangladesh are our freedom fighters.”

The right-arm pacer, a regular in the national team for white-ball cricket, has shown consistent performances in recent T20 series. He has taken 47 wickets in 40 T20 matches and 24 wickets in 15 One Day Internationals. He has also appeared in one Test match.

Sakib’s post, expressing pride and respect for the country during Victory Month, has received widespread appreciation on social media.
