Stolen Police Pistol Recovered in Narayanganj, One Arrested

Police recovered a stolen pistol in front of Nitai Ganj Nagar Bhaban in Narayanganj city. The weapon was found behind the Fire Service Station in the port area late Monday night (March 9).

Police reported that a youth named Mishal was arrested in the Bepari Para area of the port on suspicion of involvement in the pistol theft. After initial questioning, important information was obtained, leading law enforcement to conduct a search at the Fire Service Station around 2:30 AM. The stolen pistol was found hidden inside a bag during the operation.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, a group of robbers had snatched the pistol used by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Lutfor Rahman of Sadar Police Station in front of Nitai Ganj Nagar Bhaban.

Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime & Operations), Tarek Al Mahdi, said that along with the stolen firearm, 16 rounds of ammunition were also recovered. Further details will be disclosed in a press conference.
