After a long wait, the results of the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published next Monday (August 10). With the publication of the results, the nearly two-and-a-half-month wait for more than 1.8 million examinees will come to an end. After receiving their results, successful students will begin preparations for admission to the higher secondary level.
After the results are published, examinees will be able to check their results through mobile phone SMS, the education boards’ websites, and their respective educational institutions. Usually, the results are made available at around 10:00am on the day of publication.
This year, a total of 1,857,344 students filled out forms to sit for the SSC and equivalent examinations. Of them, 1,418,398 were SSC candidates, 304,286 were Dakhil candidates, and 134,660 were candidates under the SSC and Dakhil vocational streams.
Among the total candidates, 930,305 were boys and 927,039 were girls.
This year, students from 30,666 educational institutions under 11 education boards took part in the examinations at 3,885 examination centres across the country.
The SSC and equivalent examinations began on April 21 this year. The written examinations under the general education boards ended on May 20. Meanwhile, the written portions of the Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) examinations ended on May 24.
Generally, the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations are published within 60 days of the completion of the written examinations. Accordingly, this year’s results are being published nearly two and a half months after the examinations ended.
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee announced the publication date of August 10 through a notice issued on July 27. The notice informed all examinees, guardians, educational institutions, centre secretaries and other concerned parties about the scheduled date for publication of the results.
To check the results online, students will have to visit the education board’s website and select SSC/Dakhil. They will then have to select the examination year as 2026, choose the relevant education board, and enter their roll and registration numbers. After completing the security verification captcha and clicking Submit, the results will be displayed.
To check the result through mobile SMS, students will have to type:
SSC <first three letters of board name> <roll number> <2026>
The message should then be sent to 16222. For example, candidates under the Dhaka Board will write:
SSC DHA 123456 2026
A return SMS containing the result will be sent within a short time.
Dakhil candidates under the Madrasa Education Board will first have to complete pre-registration to receive their results. For this, they will have to type:
Dakhil MAD 123456 2026
The message should be sent to 16222. If pre-registration has already been completed, the result will automatically be sent to the registered mobile number after the results are published.
Candidates under the technical education stream will have to type the following to receive their results through SMS:
SSC TEC 123456 2026
The message should then be sent to 16222.
Educational institutions will also be able to collect their own result sheets. For this, they will have to visit the results section of the education board’s website and enter the institution’s EIIN number. The institution-wise result sheet can then be downloaded.
Immediately after the results are published, preparations for admission to higher secondary institutions will begin. After a long wait, therefore, Monday’s result publication will not simply be a day for students to learn their examination results; it will also mark the beginning of the next stage of their educational journey.
