The Meteorological Department has announced that squally or gusty winds, blowing at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, may sweep over six districts of the country. There's also a possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms. As a result, river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.

This information was released in a warning issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department for internal river ports, valid until 6:00 PM on Monday (July 14).

The bulletin, signed by Meteorologist A K M Nazmul Hoque, states that temporary gusty winds may blow from the south or south-east over Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, and Noakhali districts.

Another forecast indicates that many places in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions, and some places in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thunder showers with gusty winds. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is possible in isolated areas.

The Met Office has informed that such weather conditions might prevail nationwide throughout the week. Therefore, coastal and river port-related areas have been advised to remain cautious.
