3 Mro Women Die from Electrocution in Bandarban

Three Mro women have died from electrocution in Bandarban. The tragic incident occurred early Monday (July 14) at Ranglai Headman Para in the 13 Mile area of the Bandarban-Chimbuk Road.

The deceased have been identified as Tumle (17), Urkan (71), and Rawleng Mro (35), all residents of Ranglai Headman Para.

Local residents reported that an electrical transformer in the area caught fire during the night. This caused sparks to appear in the electrical lines of various houses. The victims were electrocuted while attempting to switch off lights or fans in their homes at that moment.

Rangrao Mro, President of the Market Committee in the 12 Mile area of Bandarban-Chimbuk Road, stated that he heard three Mro women died after getting entangled in wires following a transformer explosion.

Regarding the incident, Bandarban Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidullah Kawser informed the media that three Mro women died due to electrocution. He added that the body of one victim has been brought to Bandarban Sadar Hospital, while police have dispatched a team to the scene to recover the bodies of the other two.
