Son and mother die three hours apart in Chapainawabganj, buried side by side

A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Chapainawabganj where a mother also died just three hours after the death of her son. Later, they were buried side by side in the same cemetery, casting a deep shadow of grief over the area.

On Thursday (15 April) morning, the mother and son were buried in the family graveyard in Kazipara village of the Sadar upazila. Earlier, on Wednesday at around 8 PM, the son, Kalu Sheikh (55), died. Unable to bear the news of her son’s death, his mother, Moina Begum (94), took her last breath at around 11 PM.

According to family and local sources, Kalu Sheikh had been ill for several days and died while undergoing treatment at the district hospital. On the other hand, his mother Moina Begum had long been suffering from various age-related illnesses and was bedridden. After hearing the news of her son’s death, she broke down and died within a short time due to grief.

Locals say that the consecutive deaths of the mother and son have created a deeply emotional situation and have become a topic of discussion throughout the area.

Regarding this, the officer-in-charge of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station, Ekram Hossain, said that Moina Begum had been ill for a long time. After her son’s death, her physical condition deteriorated further, and she died within three hours.

At the request of family members, the mother and son were buried side by side in the same graveyard, which brought tears to the eyes of those present.
