Security measures have been strengthened at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur ahead of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Board of Directors election. This step has been taken as part of preparations for the election scheduled to be held on June 7, according to the BCB.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the BCB said that the process of collecting and submitting nomination papers is currently ongoing. For this reason, additional security arrangements have been made in and around the BCB office located at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The statement said that security has been increased at all entry points of the stadium premises, and Ansar members along with security personnel are performing their duties.

At the same time, media personnel have also been requested to cooperate with the security procedures. The BCB has advised journalists to carry their institutional identity cards while entering the stadium so that verification procedures can be completed smoothly.

With the presence of councillors and related individuals increasing ahead of the election, the BCB office is currently experiencing a busy environment. The cricket board has requested cooperation from all concerned to maintain security and discipline.
