Russian Strikes Kill 4 in Kyiv Including a Child; Poland Issues Alert

At least four people, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed in Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. Among the victims are also staff and patients from a city heart center, according to Kyiv military administration chief Tymur Tkachenko. At least 13 others were injured in the attacks.

Polish media outlet RMF24 reported that Poland’s embassy in Kyiv was also damaged in the attacks, which was confirmed by Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on social media that in addition to Kyiv, Russian forces have carried out attacks in the Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions, injuring at least 40 people.

The Polish military stated that following Russian attacks in western Ukraine, fighter jets have been deployed near their border. Russia launched a total of 595 drones and decoys, along with 48 missiles, while Ukraine claims it shot down or neutralized 566 drones and 45 missiles.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed it conducted large-scale strikes via air, sea, and drones targeting “Ukraine’s military-industrial infrastructure.” Meanwhile, Russian authorities reported that a civilian was killed in Russia’s Belgorod region in a Ukrainian drone attack.

In his daily address, Zelensky accused Russia of using tankers to launch drone attacks over European countries and called for a ban on Russian tankers operating in the Baltic Sea.

Alongside rising tensions, the pro-European party Action and Solidarity is reportedly leading in Moldova’s parliamentary elections, according to the country’s election commission.

Analysts suggest that Ukraine’s position is weakening, which is why the intensity and scope of Russian attacks continue to expand daily.
