RU Admission Test Before National Election: Likely in the First Week of January

The admission test for the 2025-26 academic session at Rajshahi University (RU) may be held in the first week of January 2026. This information comes from discussions with three teachers from last year’s admission committee. However, the final decision has not yet been made by the university administration.

Professor Dr. Md. Shaiful Islam, Director of the university’s ICT Center, stated that due to the national election in February and Ramadan, the exam may be conducted before February. Personally, he has suggested holding the test at the beginning of January. The final decision will be made in the admission committee meeting.

When asked whether there would be a selection process this year, he said it is likely that there will be none. If necessary, the exam could be conducted in three or four shifts instead of the usual two. Professor Dr. Belal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, also mentioned that the exam will be completed before the election, and a comprehensive decision will soon be made in the admission committee meeting.
