Real Madrid wins city derby, faces El Clasico in Super Cup final

Real Madrid demonstrated strength and dominance in the Madrid city derby, earning a place in the Spanish Super Cup final against arch-rivals Barcelona after defeating Atletico Madrid 2–1 in the semifinals.

Real Madrid started aggressively, and Federico Valverde scored a long-range goal in the 2nd minute, boosting the team’s confidence. Despite several chances in the first half, they couldn’t extend the lead and went into halftime with a 1–0 advantage.

In the second half, Real Madrid maintained control. Rodrigo scored the second goal with an impressive finish in the 55th minute. Atletico Madrid tried to come back, with Norwegian forward Alexander Sørloth scoring in the 58th minute. However, Real’s defense and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’s crucial saves kept them in control.
