Young pacer Nahid Rana has received permission from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final. He is expected to play for Peshawar Zalmi in the final scheduled for May 3.
The confirmation of Nahid’s participation was first given by the franchise owner Javed Afridi. In a social media post, he expressed gratitude to the BCB. The Bangladesh Cricket Board also later confirmed the matter.
Earlier, Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam had been granted extended permission to participate in the PSL. At that time, Javed Afridi had also thanked the BCB for its cooperation. He again expressed gratitude after receiving permission for the final.
It is noteworthy that after the ODI series against New Zealand, the BCB had initially decided not to send Nahid Rana to the PSL due to injury concerns and workload management. Similarly, Mustafizur Rahman also did not participate in the final phase of the tournament.
However, after Peshawar Zalmi qualified for the final by winning the qualifier match, the franchise requested Nahid Rana’s availability for the final, and the BCB granted special permission accordingly.
The Bangladesh Test series against Pakistan is scheduled to begin on May 8. The BCB has said that if everything goes as planned, Nahid Rana will be available to represent Bangladesh in the Test series.
