Paris Saint-Germain have once again secured the Ligue 1 title. They became champions one match before the end of the season after defeating their closest rivals Lens.

At the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, goals were scored for PSG by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Ibrahim Mbaye. With this victory, the points gap became unassailable, making the final match irrelevant in determining the champion.

This marks PSG’s 14th Ligue 1 title, the highest in French football history. It is also their fifth consecutive league title. Previously, Saint-Étienne held the record with 10 league titles.

After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique said, “This is the most difficult and most enjoyable title among the last three seasons. Lens fought brilliantly throughout the season, so we had to pass a tough test to become champions.”

Out of the last 14 seasons, PSG have won 12 league titles, maintaining their dominance in domestic football.

In their final league match on Sunday, PSG will face city rivals Paris FC. After that, on May 30, they will play in the UEFA Champions League final against English club Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Lens will participate in the Coupe de France final against Nice on May 22.
