Students at Tejgaon College protested demanding the arrest of those responsible for the death of student Sakibul Hasan Rana, who was injured in a dormitory clash. Extra police were deployed at Farmgate and surrounding areas.
On Wednesday (17 December) at 10:30 am, law enforcement was stationed at the main gate, adjacent roads, and nearby alleys to prevent congestion or unrest. Students gathered in front of the campus, chanting for justice for Sakib.
The clashes on 6 December involved two factions of the student body over drug use and dormitory control. Three students, including Sakibul Hasan Rana, were seriously injured and hospitalized; Sakib later died.
Students accused influential groups of dominating the campus and engaging in illegal activities. They demand the rapid arrest of culprits and a safe dormitory environment.
