Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on his first working day

The newly elected Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman entered the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon. Around 12:30 PM, he and his cabinet members entered through Gate 5 in two protocol vehicles.

Earlier, at 12:05 PM, the Prime Minister and his cabinet members visited the graves of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to lay wreaths. In the morning, they also paid respects at the National Memorial.

Special preparations and activity were observed at the Secretariat from the morning. Officials were seen carrying flower bouquets and preparing for the day. The Prime Minister’s security personnel (SSF) were deployed from early morning to ensure safety.

The Prime Minister’s office on the third floor of the Cabinet Division was cleaned and prepared the day before. Nameplates were placed in the offices of newly appointed ministers and state ministers, and ministries were reorganized.

On his first working day, the Prime Minister will work in his office, attend introductory meetings with officials, and hold a special cabinet meeting at 3 PM. He will also have separate meetings with secretaries at 4 PM, followed by briefings to journalists in the evening. Newly appointed ministers and state ministers will also begin their duties in their respective ministries, familiarize themselves with ongoing operations, and meet with officials.
