The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has placed three major demands before the International Cricket Council (ICC) to resolve the crisis arising from Bangladesh’s exclusion from the ongoing T20 World Cup being held in India. From the outset, Pakistan has stood by Bangladesh and brought the issue to the international stage by declaring it would not play against India.

According to Indian media reports, during a meeting with ICC officials in Lahore, PCB clearly stated that it would not consider playing against India until concrete assurances are given regarding compensation for Bangladesh’s losses.

The PCB’s first demand is that Bangladesh must receive substantial financial compensation for being excluded from the World Cup. The second demand is that Bangladesh’s participation fee must be ensured even though the team did not take part in the tournament. The third demand seeks a commitment to award Bangladesh hosting rights for a future major ICC global event.

According to ICC sources, while there is no provision for separate compensation, assurances have been given that Bangladesh will receive its full share of ICC revenue.

Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has maintained a firm stance. Although there are differing opinions within the board regarding playing India, he has decided to consult with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif before making a final decision.

To resolve the deadlock, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul participated in a trilateral meeting with senior ICC and PCB officials in Lahore on Sunday. The ICC requested Pakistan to play against India and assured full possible support to Bangladesh.

BCB President Aminul Islam expressed gratitude to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for standing firmly beside Bangladesh during this difficult time. It is learned that a coordinated solution framework has already been prepared to resolve the ongoing crisis between Bangladesh and the ICC.
