In the Super Four stage of the T20 Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will clash today, Tuesday, at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The match will start at 8:30 PM Bangladesh time (14:30 GMT). The outcome is crucial, as the losing team could see their hopes of reaching the final shattered.

Both former champions lost their first Super Four matches. Bangladesh and India, on the other hand, have already secured victories in their opening games, earning two points each. This makes today’s match a must-win for Pakistan and Sri Lanka to keep their final hopes alive.

Last Saturday, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets, while Pakistan suffered their second consecutive defeat against arch-rivals India on Sunday, leaving the field disappointed.

Under the leadership of Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka, the team has won the last five T20 internationals against Pakistan. Meanwhile, two-time Asia Cup champion Pakistan will enter the field today determined to reclaim their lost pride.

Key Players to Watch for Pakistan:

  • Fakhar Zaman: Returning from a long injury layoff. Though not yet in full form, once he finds his rhythm, he can put considerable pressure on opposition bowlers.

  • Abrar Ahmed: The team’s most economical bowler so far. With only four wickets in four matches, his tight spells create opportunities for wickets at the other end.

Sri Lanka’s Key Assets:

  • Pathum Nissanka: Consistently scoring runs, he has amassed 146 runs in four matches of this Asia Cup.

  • Wanindu Hasaranga: Despite injuries, he has been effective with both ball and bat, taking 14 wickets and scoring 61 runs in five matches against Pakistan.

Super Four Points Table:
India leads the table with two points and a better net run rate, followed by Bangladesh in second place with equal points. Today’s winning team could move anywhere from first to third in the standings. The losing team would need a big win in their final match and will depend on other match outcomes to advance.
