Over 150,000 ballots reach Bangladesh, overseas voters participate in postal voting

Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the OCV-SDI project overseeing overseas voter registration, confirmed the figures. He stated that a total of 766,862 ballots have been sent worldwide, with 516,007 received by overseas voters. Of these, 454,587 voters have cast their votes, and 406,564 ballots have been posted via mail.

Within Bangladesh, 269,000 voters have received ballot papers via the Postal Vote BD app. By 3:30 p.m. yesterday, 3,748 voters collected ballots, 2,422 had voted, and 1,149 posted them. Overall, 1,533,684 voters are registered to participate via postal vote. Authorities hope that this system will increase participation and allow overseas Bangladeshis to actively engage in the democratic process.
