Operation in passenger bus in Syedpur, young man arrested with 6,000 yaba pills

The operation took place on Tuesday (17 February) night at the Wapda Mor area of Syedpur town, along the Syedpur-Dinajpur highway. Acting on secret information, authorities conducted a search on a Thakurgaon-bound bus operated by Nabil Transport.

During the operation, a passenger, Mosharaf Hossain alias Mofizul (29), was searched, and authorities recovered a bag he was carrying containing 30 blue zipper packets. Each packet contained 200 yaba tablets, totaling 6,000 yaba pills. He was arrested on the spot.

Mosharaf Hossain is a resident of Baloncha (Part) village in Ranisankail Upazila, Thakurgaon district. His father’s name is Mostofa Kamal.

Sub-Inspector Sakib Sarkar of the Nilphamari district office stated that preliminary investigation suggests the arrested individual had been involved in the collection and distribution of drugs across various regions of the country for a long time. A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, at Syedpur Police Station.
