One Killed in Collision Between Microbus and Motorcycle in Guimara, Khagrachhari

A motorcycle rider named Shuddha Ang Marma, 40, was killed in a head-on collision between a microbus and a motorcycle in Guimara upazila of Khagrachhari.

The accident occurred on Saturday (August 15) morning near the BGB Sector Hospital in the Jaliapara area along the Khagrachhari-Chattogram highway.

The deceased, Shuddha Ang Marma, was a resident of Paglapara area under Patachhara Union of Ramgarh upazila.

According to police and local sources, Shuddha Ang Marma was traveling by motorcycle from Guimara Bazar toward Ramgarh on Saturday morning. When he reached the Jaliapara area, his motorcycle collided head-on with a microbus coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision threw him onto the road, leaving him critically injured, and he died at the scene.

After hearing about the accident, local residents rushed to the scene. Police later arrived, recovered the body of the deceased and took it to the hospital.

Mohammad Sohrabardi, officer-in-charge (OC) of Guimara Police Station, said the microbus driver fled the scene following the accident. However, police have seized the microbus.

Police said the cause of the accident is being investigated. Legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway.
