Nawabganj: Allegations of cutting and selling government tree branches against Chhatra Dal

PNN News Desk, Dinajpur – In Dawdpur Bazar, Nawabganj, several local BNP and Chhatra Dal activists have been accused of cutting thick branches of a government bot tree for sale. The incident occurred Monday morning at Bau Bazar Chowk, according to local sources.

Officials said that an operation was conducted Tuesday afternoon by UNO Zillur Rahman and local land office staff, recovering approximately 45 “mon” of wood and straw, which have been stored at Dawdpur Union Land Office. Some branches sold through retail outlets have yet to be recovered. Estimated value of the seized items is BDT 60,000.

The Chhatra Dal local secretary denied involvement. The UNO stated that legal action will be taken after proper investigation. Local residents have called for strict measures to protect government property and impartial inquiry.
