BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that recent incidents of rape, child abuse, and murder in the country are not isolated events. He said they are a horrific reflection of long-term moral decay, lack of social responsibility, and a crisis of human values.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, he made this statement.
In the post, Mirza Fakhrul said the BNP is committed to working comprehensively against such inhuman crimes. He also mentioned the goal of building a safe Bangladesh where children can grow up without fear.
He believes that such crimes cannot be prevented only through law enforcement or government initiatives. A society-wide awareness and a strong social movement are required.
The BNP Secretary General said that family, educational institutions, madrasas, teachers, religious leaders, media, and social organizations must all come together. He also emphasized teaching children respect, humanity, responsibility, and respect for women.
He further stated that ensuring child safety means ensuring the country’s future. He called on everyone to work together in this struggle for social change.
