Main Accused Fazr Ali Arrested in Rape Case; Four Others Detained for Spreading Victim’s Video

PNN Desk | Comilla: Police have arrested Fazr Ali, the main accused in a rape case in Muradnagar Upazila, Comilla, along with four others involved in spreading the victim’s video.

On the night of June 26, around 8 PM, Fazr Ali alias Fazl (36) allegedly raped the wife of an expatriate in Ramchandrapur Panchkipta village in the same area. The incident caused widespread outrage after it went viral on social media.

It is reported that Fazr Ali was caught by local residents during the assault but managed to escape later. Some bystanders recorded a video of the victim at the scene and circulated it on platforms like TikTok, causing further distress. Following the viral video, a case was filed on June 27 at Muradnagar Police Station under Section 9(1) of the Prevention of Women and Children Repression Act 2000 (Amendment 2003) (Case No. 18, dated 27/06/2025).

After the case was lodged, police swiftly conducted operations to arrest Fazr Ali, the prime accused. In addition, four individuals suspected of distributing the video have been detained. Police stated that legal action will be taken against them under the existing laws.

Comilla Superintendent of Police said, “No one will be spared in the case of rape and video dissemination. We are taking strict legal measures.”
