Liverpool Tops Table, Soboslay’s Free-Kick Seals Victory Over Arsenal

In a high-voltage English Premier League match, Liverpool defeated Arsenal 1-0 to climb to the top of the points table. On Sunday (31 August) at Anfield, Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai scored the only goal with a brilliant free-kick.

Liverpool ended Arsenal’s 858-day unbeaten run against the Big Six teams. This victory also gave Jürgen Klopp’s side a perfect nine points from three consecutive league matches.

The match saw Arsenal take a backfoot early on, compounded by an injury to defender William Saliba. Although Arsenal created some chances in the first half, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker skillfully kept them out. In the second half, a goal by Hugo Ekitike was disallowed for offside.

Liverpool secured the win in the 83rd minute through Szoboszlai’s free-kick, putting them on top of the league table with nine points from three matches, while Arsenal sits third with six points.
