Jahangirnagar University Declares Ragging Completely Prohibited

Jahangirnagar University (JU) has declared all forms of ragging strictly prohibited. The decision was announced on Saturday (20 September) afternoon through a notice issued by the university’s Public Relations Office.

The notice stated that under Section 5(ঙ) of the Discipline Ordinance 2018, any teasing, ragging, or abusive behavior inside the campus, halls, or departments is strictly forbidden.

The university authorities emphasized that ragging is a punishable offense, and depending on the severity of the misconduct, punishment may range from temporary suspension to permanent expulsion. Students have been urged to come forward and help prevent ragging on campus.
