Several buildings have already shown damage, including fallen ceilings, potentially extending the closure beyond a month. There may be a shift toward online classes during this period.
The ongoing closure also affects the JAKSU elections. Student leaders demand that elections proceed on 22 December as planned.
VP candidate Riazul Islam of the Odmya Jobian Unity Panel stated, “Elections must be held on 22 December without delay, or students’ trust in the election will erode.”
Independent VP candidate Rakib confirmed preparations like drug tests could be completed on time. Any delay would cause unnecessary expense and uncertainty for candidates.
Election Commission Chief Professor Dr. Mostofa Hasan stated that the election depends on university reopening and administration decisions, with preparations ongoing according to the schedule.
