Barishal University Waives All Fees for Students Injured in July Protests

Barishal University (BU) has announced a waiver of all fees for students injured during the July 2024 student protests. The university authority’s decision covers tuition, exam, transport, departmental development fees, and all hall charges.

The official notice signed by Acting Registrar Khan Sanjia Sultana on Thursday (27 November) confirmed the approval based on the Academic Council’s 50th meeting, Finance Committee’s 46th meeting, and Syndicate’s 90th and 91st meetings.

The waiver is effective from 6 February 2025. Students who have already paid fees after this date may apply for a refund or adjustment. The decision is expected to relieve students financially and allow normal continuation of academic activities.
