India's Chief of Army Staff, General Anil Chauhan, expressed significant concern on Tuesday regarding the potential deepening of ties between Bangladesh, China, and Pakistan, labeling such a relationship a major threat to India's stability and security. His remarks were made at an event in Delhi, as reported by The Tribune.

According to General Chauhan, the evolving relationship among these three nations could have serious implications for India's regional standing and internal security.

During his address, General Chauhan also touched upon China's role during "Operation Sindoor," an operation against Pakistan. He noted, "It is very difficult to ascertain the extent of China's state support for Pakistan."

He highlighted Pakistan's substantial reliance on China for its military needs, stating that Pakistan procures approximately 70% to 80% of its weapons and military equipment from China. General Chauhan believes that Chinese military equipment manufacturers will likely be responsible for the maintenance of these systems.

The Army Chief also stressed the changing nature of warfare, observing that no country in the world possesses a complete defense against attacks involving ballistic missiles, drones, or hypersonic weapons. Consequently, he emphasized the need for India to remain constantly prepared for both traditional and modern forms of warfare.

General Chauhan's comments about the perceived threat from a China-Pakistan-Bangladesh axis come just ten days after the first trilateral meeting between the three nations. India shares a long border with Bangladesh.

Earlier, India's Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Rahul R. Singh, had stated that India faced three adversaries—China, Turkey, and Pakistan—during a four-day conflict in May. He indicated that Pakistan was on the front lines, with China providing all forms of support.
