The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received a response from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding its letter about security concerns for participating in the T20 World Cup in India. ICC has reportedly committed to ensuring Bangladesh’s full and uninterrupted participation, BCB said.

In a press release, BCB stated that ICC is willing to actively work on the security concerns raised by the board and assured that BCB’s opinion will be considered in preparing detailed security plans for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The release also mentioned that some media reports claimed ICC had issued a “final message” or “ultimatum” requiring Bangladesh to play in India. BCB denied these claims, calling them entirely false and misleading, noting no connection with the actual communication received from ICC.

Regarding future plans, BCB emphasized that the national team’s safety and overall security are the top priorities. The board will continue professional and cooperative discussions with ICC and relevant authorities to ensure Bangladesh’s participation in the 2026 T20 World Cup is safe and smooth. BCB believes that through ongoing discussions, a realistic and acceptable solution can be reached, safeguarding both the interests and security of the Bangladesh team.
