Hanging Body of Jagannath University Female Student Recovered from Mess in Sutrapur

Police have recovered the hanging body of a female student of Jagannath University (JnU) from a mess located in the Kalta Bazar area of Sutrapur police station in the capital. The deceased student has been identified as Rakiba, a student of the 20th batch of the Department of Islamic History and Culture at Jagannath University.

The incident occurred late Sunday night (February 8) at a mess located near the water pump area of Kalta Bazar. Police said Rakiba’s home district was Satkhira.

According to officials from Sutrapur Police Station, police rushed to the scene around 10:00 p.m. after receiving a call to the national emergency service number 999. Upon arrival, they recovered Rakiba’s hanging body from a room. The exact cause of death could not be determined immediately.

Police further stated that an inquest report has been prepared, and the process of sending the body for autopsy is underway. The actual cause of death will be confirmed after receiving the post-mortem report. Legal proceedings related to the incident are currently in process.
