Zimbabwe’s former captain Graeme Cremer has taken a step towards returning to international cricket after a gap of over seven and a half years. The leg-spinner, who will turn 39 next month, recently played in Zimbabwe’s National Premier League, impressively taking 4 wickets for 43 runs in his first match and 4 wickets for 44 runs in the second.

Cremer said, “It’s an amazing feeling to be back at my old ground in Kwekwe and playing for a club like Takashinga. Being embraced by the team and receiving everyone’s support makes me ecstatic.”

He made his international debut in 2005 against Bangladesh and captained Zimbabwe from 2016, leading in 8 Tests, 35 ODIs, and 5 T20Is. Cremer stepped away from international cricket in 2018.

Now, he is ready to reshape his cricketing career and hopes to achieve success again on the international stage for Zimbabwe. His comeback has sparked excitement among cricket fans both at home and abroad.
