Gangster Golam Mostofa Arrested in Meherpur with Foreign Pistol and Ammunition

In Gangi Upazila of Meherpur, a joint force has arrested gangster Golam Mostofa (50) with a foreign pistol, three rounds of ammunition, and two magazines. The operation took place on Monday (31 August) at around 4:30 pm, when a combined team of RAB and the army raided his residence in Vitapara village of Chougacha in Gangi municipality.

According to RAB sources, based on secret intelligence, RAB-12’s Crime Prevention Company-3 and Gangi army personnel conducted the joint operation. During the raid, illegal firearms and ammunition were recovered from Golam Mostofa’s house.

In preliminary questioning, Golam Mostofa admitted that he had possessed these weapons for a long time with the intention of engaging in criminal activities and establishing dominance in the area.

Lieutenant Wahiduzzaman, commander of RAB-12, stated that Golam Mostofa faces multiple cases under arms, explosives, and narcotics laws. A case has been filed against him under the 1878 Arms Act at Gangi Police Station.
