Four Candidates’ Nominations Valid, Three Cancelled in Satkhira-3 Constituency

After reviewing the nominations for Satkhira-3 (Ashashuni–Kaliganj) constituency, the District Returning Officer declared four candidates’ nominations valid. However, three candidates’ nominations were canceled due to not meeting the required voter support conditions.

According to sources from the Returning Office, a total of eight candidates submitted nominations in this constituency. For three of them, their nominations were canceled as the signatures from 1% of voters were found to be incorrect. The canceled candidates are Dr. Shahidul Alam, Asafudoula, and Aslam Al Mehedi.

In addition, the nomination of Md. Waiez Kuruni, the candidate of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, has been temporarily suspended, according to the District Returning Officer.

Previously, among those who submitted nominations were Kazi Alauddin of BNP, Hafez Muha. Robiul Basar of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Md. Alif Hossain of the Jatiya Party, independent candidates S.A. Asfudoula Khan, Md. Shahidul Alam, Aslam Al Mehedi, Rubel Hossain of the Bangladesh Minority Janata Party (BMJP), and Md. Waiez Kuruni of Islami Andolan Bangladesh.

Following the verification of nominations, the competition in the constituency is expected to become clearer with the remaining valid candidates, according to observers.
