A 4.1-magnitude earthquake was felt in Narsingdi at 6:15 AM on Thursday. No major damage has been reported.
This is the fifth earthquake in 13 days, causing widespread fear among locals. A previous earthquake on the 21st of last month killed five people and injured over a hundred, damaging numerous public and private buildings.
Residents reported waking up to shaking furniture and objects. “After several tremors, we realized it was another earthquake. We were very scared,” said one resident. Another, Shuvrojit, said, “Repeated earthquakes are traumatizing; we don’t know what will happen next.”
Locals remain alert, but no major damage has been reported so far. Attempts to contact the Meteorological Office for more information were unsuccessful.
