Expatriate’s wife and two children found with throat-slit bodies in Cumilla

In Homna upazila of Cumilla, the wife of an expatriate and two children were found murdered with their throats slit. The tragic incident occurred early Tuesday (February 17) in Monipur village of the upazila. The matter became known in the morning through local residents, casting a shadow of fear and mourning over the area.

The deceased are Papia Akter Sukhi (25), wife of expatriate Jahirul Islam of the village; their four-year-old son Hossain; and six-year-old Zobayer, son of Abdus Sattar from a neighboring house.

According to local sources, neighbors became suspicious after seeing the house door open in the morning. Upon entering, they found the three lying in blood. Police were immediately informed.

Homna Police Station officers arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Morshedul Alam inspected the scene.

The OC stated that the throat-slit bodies of the expatriate’s wife and two children were recovered. The specific motive behind the killings is not yet known. Surrounding circumstances are being examined and an investigation has begun.

The incident has created a sensation in the area. Police stated that all necessary steps are being taken to uncover the mystery behind the killings.
