DU’s Newly Elected VP Sadik Kayem Wants to Turn University Into a Knowledge Hub

The newly elected Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), Sadik Kayem, has said that he wants to develop Dhaka University as a hub for knowledge production and intends to maintain such initiatives throughout the year. His goal is to enable students from various departments and faculties to work together on their ideas.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday (24 September) after visiting a sales fair organized by the university’s Marketing Department, he said, “According to our manifesto, we want to build Dhaka University into a full-fledged academic institution where students can apply what they learn in practice. Very soon, we will organize a job fair and a research fair, where students from other universities across the country can also participate.”

Sadik Kayem added, “From DUCSU, we visited the sales fair and witnessed the enthusiasm of the students. The Marketing Department students are applying in practice what they have learned in theory. We will continue to support such initiatives in the future as well.”
