Staff Reporter | PNN:
Although candidates who were not recommended in the sixth circular have demanded recruitment through a special circular, the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has stated that there is no such plan. The authority mentioned that if there are vacant positions, candidates will be appointed based on merit.

A source from NTRCA said that by next Thursday, the joining process for candidates recommended in the sixth circular will conclude. After that, the number of candidates who have not joined will be recorded. Vacant positions will first be filled by replacing candidates who were incorrectly recommended. If positions still remain vacant, candidates who were not recommended may be considered for appointment based on merit list.

NTRCA Chairman Aminul Islam stated, “It has not been finalized whether a special circular will be issued. If there are vacant positions, candidates will be recommended based on merit.”

On 2 November 2023, 1,865,719 candidates applied under the 18th circular, of whom only 60,521 candidates passed the preliminary, written, and oral exams. In the sixth circular, 41,627 candidates were recommended for appointment, leaving 16,213 candidates unselected.

The unselected candidates have complained that despite having merit and qualifications, they have faced mental and social pressure due to not being appointed. They have requested that the 19th circular should be issued only after ensuring the recommendations for the disadvantaged candidates of the 18th exam.

On 6 February 2022, 15,163 candidates were appointed through a special circular. Similarly, the candidates unselected from the 18th exam have demanded recruitment under the same policy.
