In a special operation, the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested a man in Joydebpur, Gazipur, with 10,000 yaba tablets. The raid was conducted on Tuesday night.
According to DNC sources, the operation was overseen by Mehedi Hasan, Deputy Director of DNC’s Dhaka Divisional Intelligence Office, and led by Assistant Director Mostak Ahmed. During the legal search in the presence of witnesses, 10,000 yaba tablets were recovered in 50 blue zippered poly packs from a black shopping bag. A mobile phone used in drug trading was also seized. Initial interrogation revealed that the suspect had long been involved in wholesale yaba trade in Gazipur. Identification and arrest of other members involved are ongoing.
A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act at Joydebpur Police Station. Law enforcement stated that such operations against drugs will continue in the future.
