PNN Staff Report:

Discussions to form a possible election alliance among five parties—the National Citizens Party (NCP), Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party), Gan Adhikar Parishad, Bangladesh State Reform Movement, and National Socialist Party (JSD)—have reached a deadlock. Despite several meetings, the parties have yet to finalize any decisions, temporarily halting the alliance announcement.

The alliance’s debut was scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the Shaheed Abu Said Convention Center, Shahbagh, but differences in opinion prevented a final announcement. NCP’s executive council objected to including “Youp Bangladesh,” a platform formed by former leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir, fearing it could affect the alliance’s credibility.

Leaders from Gan Adhikar Parishad also expressed doubts regarding timing and necessity. Discussions from Wednesday evening to late night at Banglamotor included representatives from all five parties.

AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman said, “Talks are ongoing to form a strong alliance. It will be announced before the election schedule if finalized.”

NCP Media Cell Secretary Mushfiq Us Salehin confirmed no announcement is planned yet; talks are ongoing. Differences over including “Youp Bangladesh” and participation timing of Gan Adhikar Parishad remain the main reasons for the delay.
