Constable withdrawn in Rajshahi for making TikTok videos in police uniform

A constable named Md. Saifuzzaman has been withdrawn from his police station in Rajshahi over allegations of misusing the police uniform. He was posted at Kashiadanga Police Station under Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP).

On Thursday, January 1, RMP Commissioner Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman issued the related order.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiadanga Police Station, Farhad Ali, stated that he learned on Thursday that Constable Saifuzzaman was living with a woman named Sima Khatun and that the woman was publishing TikTok videos while wearing a police uniform. Upon learning this, he personally visited the location.

Preliminary investigations revealed that although Saifuzzaman claimed to have legally married Sima Khatun after divorcing his first wife, the relevant marriage documents were not immediately available. However, the authenticity of the TikTok videos showing Sima Khatun in the police uniform was confirmed.

After informing higher authorities, Saifuzzaman was withdrawn from Kashiadanga Police Station and later in the evening attached to the RMP Police Lines.

RMP spokesperson Gaziur Rahman emphasized that police uniforms cannot be used by family members or anyone else. It is legally a punishable offense. Following initial confirmation of the complaint, the constable has been withdrawn, and departmental action will be taken against him after the investigation.

It is reported that Sima Khatun is a resident of Mirpur Upazila in Kushtia. She has long been publishing videos on TikTok wearing police uniforms. Multiple allegations of fraud against her have also surfaced.
