A dispute has emerged over the ownership of Brazilian football star Richarlison's private island. The Tottenham Hotspur striker has accused Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro and a presidential candidate, of taking control of the island without payment.

Claiming that he has not recovered the money he invested in the property, Richarlison has also called for police intervention to investigate the matter.

According to Richarlison, he invested approximately 10 million Brazilian reais between 2020 and 2021 to purchase an island near the coast of Rio de Janeiro. However, the footballer claims that he has not received any money back from that investment.

In a video posted on social media, Richarlison alleged that he had never intended to sell the island to Flavio Bolsonaro. Despite this, he claimed that he had not received justice in the ongoing legal process concerning ownership of the property.

According to Richarlison, the process of finalizing the island's ownership documents was underway. He said the people involved had informed him that resolving the matter could take anywhere from several months to several years.

However, he alleged that after Flavio Bolsonaro and a man named Weller Thomas arrived at the island, they took control of the property within just 24 hours.

Expressing his frustration in the video, Richarlison said the justice system had failed in this case. He claimed that despite investing approximately 10 million reais, he had not recovered any money and that others had taken control of the island without making any payment.

Richarlison has urged the police to investigate how ownership of the island came under someone else's control and what happened to the money he invested. He also called on his social media followers to raise questions about the matter and demand an explanation from Flavio Bolsonaro.

Flavio Bolsonaro, however, rejected Richarlison's allegations. Commenting on a video posted by Brazilian influencer and singer Juliette, he described the accusations as “fake news.” The video had criticized Bolsonaro's political activities.

Responding to Bolsonaro's comment, Richarlison briefly asked, “Then what happened to my island?” His remark further intensified the discussion on social media surrounding the dispute over the property's ownership.

Amid political tensions in Brazil, the dispute has added a new dimension to the public disagreement between a prominent international footballer and a presidential candidate.

However, without independently verified information about the transfer of ownership, financial transactions and the legal proceedings, the truth of Richarlison's allegations cannot yet be conclusively determined.
