BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia admitted to Evercare Hospital

Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on the advice of her medical team, according to Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Media Cell.

He said that Begum Zia left her residence “Firoza” in Gulshan at around 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday and was admitted to the hospital following recommendations from her medical board.

Begum Khaleda Zia has long been suffering from liver cirrhosis, kidney complications, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis, among other chronic health issues. Earlier, on August 28, she visited the hospital for her routine medical check-up.

In addition, on January 8, she traveled to London, UK, for advanced medical treatment, where she underwent treatment for 17 consecutive days. After completing her hospital care in London, she continued medical follow-up at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence until her return to Bangladesh on May 6.

Since returning home, she has been under the supervision of Professor Shahabuddin Talukder, a senior specialist at Evercare Hospital.

At present, following the medical board’s latest advice, Begum Khaleda Zia has been re-admitted to the hospital, where her treatment and overall condition are being closely monitored.
