BGB Foils BSF Push-in Attempt at Dinajpur Border, Nine People Taken Back by Indian Border Force

A reported attempt by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push nine individuals into Bangladesh through the Khiyarmamudpur border in Birampur Upazila of Dinajpur was foiled after the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), assisted by local village police, Ansar-VDP members, and residents, took immediate action.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 25) in the Bhaigarh border area.

According to sources concerned, members of the Bhimpur BSF Camp, located inside Indian territory near border pillar 291/20, escorted eight women and one man toward the international border in an apparent attempt to force them into Bangladesh.

The patrol team of the Bhaigarh BGB Camp, which was on routine border duty, detected the movement and immediately rushed to the location to prevent the push-in attempt. Upon receiving the news, local village police, Ansar-VDP personnel, and residents also gathered at the border and strongly protested the move.

Faced with the firm stance of the BGB and the united resistance of local people, BSF personnel eventually withdrew from the border area with the nine individuals, abandoning the alleged push-in attempt. As a result, none of them were allowed to enter Bangladeshi territory.

Subedar T. Alam, Commander of the Bhaigarh BGB Camp, confirmed the incident, stating that the BSF had attempted to push eight women and one man into Bangladesh. However, the swift response by the BGB successfully prevented the attempt, ensuring that no unauthorized entry took place.

Following the incident, the BGB has intensified security measures along the border. Local residents have also been urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to prevent any similar incidents and to ensure the safety and security of the frontier.
