The final board meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), chaired by president Aminul Islam, began yesterday at 9:00 PM and lasted for over two hours. The meeting had a somber tone as the outgoing board convened, yet several important decisions were made. However, no decision was reached regarding the publication of the draft voter list or the finalization of councillor forms for the upcoming election.

The meeting noted the late submission of councillor forms. Former president Faruk Ahmed’s form was received at 9:00 PM from Rangers Cricket Academy and was accepted as a “note.” The decision to finalize the forms rests with the Election Commission.

Iftikhar Rahman, head of BCB’s media committee, stated that the meeting was delayed due to two ongoing court writs. Discussions on the matters began only after receiving the court’s final directives. The next hearing is scheduled for September 28 at the Chamber Judge Court.

The draft voter list for the election will be published after receiving objections from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the specified day. According to the election schedule, voting is set to take place on October 6.

The board also approved a three-year contract with IMG for BPL event management and decided that the next BPL season will be held in December-January. The current board is leaving office with 139.8 crore Taka in permanent deposits and cash.
