In the first ODI between Bangladesh and West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, Bangladesh scored 116/4 after 35 overs.

For Bangladesh, Tawhid Hridoy faced 90 balls and scored 51 runs, marking his 11th career fifty. He was dismissed caught behind off Justin Graves. With his departure, Bangladesh lost their fourth wicket. Earlier, Hridoy had shared a 36-run partnership in 75 balls with Mahidul Islam Ankon.

At the start of the innings, Bangladesh lost two wickets for just 8 runs, putting them in trouble. However, thanks to the partnership between Tawhid Hridoy and Najmul Hossain Shanto, the team recovered, reaching 100 runs in 30 overs. Shanto scored 32 runs before getting out, while Hridoy and Ankon continued to try to boost the team’s total. Ankon remained not out on 12, while Hridoy was 43 not out.

After returning from the Pakistan series, openers Soumya Sarkar and Saif Hasan were dismissed consecutively in two balls. First, Saif Hasan was trapped LBW, followed by Soumya Sarkar giving a catch. Then, Shanto and Hridoy tried to stabilize the innings.

There is some uncertainty about the Mirpur pitch, but cricket fans are hopeful it will provide a good opportunity for competitive cricket.
